Red Wings recall Fabian Brunnstrom from Grand Rapids

The Detroit Red Wings announced that 26-year-old forward Fabian Brunnstrom has been recalled from Grand Rapids Griffins (AHL). Brunnstrom has appeared in four games for the Red Wings (0G-1A-1P) and two games for the Griffins (1G-1A-2P) thus far on the 2011-12 campaign, his first with the organization.
Detroit has also announced that defenseman Brendan Smith has been reassigned to the Griffins. The 22-year-old blue-liner has skated in three games for Detroit (0G-2A-2P) and 11 games for Grand Rapids (0G-5A-5P) this season.
