Red Wings knock down Cup champion Bruins in shootout, 3-2
Pavel Datsyuk scored in regulation and again in the shootout to push the Detroit Red Wings past the Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins, 3-2, at the TD Garden, ending Boston’s winning streak at 10 and extending Detroit’s to four. Datsyuk has eight points during that stretch.
Red Wings goalie Jimmy Howard made 41 saves to 29 for Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask. Todd Bertuzzi secured the victory in the third round of the shootout.
After the game, Detroit flew back to the Joe Louis Arena to prepare for Saturday night's game against their division rival Nashville Predators.
