Tigers allow 2B Will Rhymes to be free agent for 2012 season
The Detroit Tigers announced the club did not tender a contract to second baseman Will Rhymes for the 2012 season.
Rhymes saw action with both the Tigers and Triple A Toledo during the 2011 season. In 29 games with Detroit, he hit .235 (20x85) with three doubles and two RBI. Rhymes batted .306 (124x405) with 17 doubles, four triples, three home runs and 24 RBI in 104 games this past season with Toledo.
Rhymes is now a free agent and eligible to sign with any of the 30 major league clubs.
