Pavel Datsyuk banked in a shot from a bad angle off Chicago defenseman Nick Leddy for the winning goal 3:08 into overtime as the Detroit Red Wings beat the Chicago Blackhawks, 3-2. Dan Cleary also scored with 4:45 left in regulation to tie it at two after Henrik Zetterberg fired a loose puck into traffic in front. Valtteri Filppula also scored for the Red Wings.

Ty Conklin, Detroit's backup, blocked 29 shots in his sixth start this season. He won for the first time since beating Colorado, 3-0 on October 8th.

Center Darren Helm returned after missing four games with a lower body injury. Tomas Holmstrom came back following a five-game absence because of a groin injury.
