A rash of injuries hasn’t been enough to slow the Detroit Red Wings.

Johan Franzen scored 45 seconds into overtime and the Red Wings rallied from a 2-0 first-period deficit to beat the Columbus Blue Jackets 6-5.

Tomas Holmstrom (broken right hand) and goalie Jimmy Howard (bruised right knee) were injured In Friday night’s 3-2 shootout loss to the Blue Jackets in Columbus. Holmstrom, who won’t need surgery, is expected to miss three to four weeks, and Howard a few days.

Holmstrom and Howard join Mike Modano (severed tendon in his wrist), Pavel Datsyuk (broken bone in his right hand), Danny Cleary (fractured left ankle), Brad Stuart (broken jaw) and Chris Osgood (sports hernia surgery) on the injured list.

Franzen beat Mason with a shot from the high inside edge of the right circle for his 19th goal.

Drew Miller had a goal and two assists, and Jonathan Ericsson and Kris Draper each added a goal and an assist for Detroit. Valtteri Filppula and Brian Rafalski also scored.

Red Wings coach Mike Babcock put Miller on a line with Draper and Helm early in the game, swapping Miller and Patrick Eaves.

It was MacDonald’s first NHL win since Dec, 3, 2009, when he beat Columbus 6-3 as a member of the Toronto Maple Leafs. It was his first win for Detroit since Feb. 11, 2007.
