Rough weekend continues for Titans

Nick Minnerath had one of the best games of his career, with 23 points & 12 rebounds, and yet it still wasn't enough for the Titans as Detroit lost another game on TV to Valparaiso, 78-68. With the help of Valpo's Jay Harris' three 3-pointers in the 1st half, the Crusaders were able to hold the Titans to only 29% shooting before halftime. Ray McCallum, with his 16 points, tried to rally the Titans in the 2nd half, but the tone was already set. Not to mention that each shot Detroit attempted just would not go through the hoop, no matter how wide open a player was. The Titans (10-9, 4-3 Horizon League) will look to break their 2-game slump as they head to east Ohio to take on Cleveland State on Thursday & Youngstown State on Saturday. As for the women (8-8, 2-3 Horizon League), following their loss to Wright State last night, they actually get to travel with the men, for their road schedule is exactly the same for next weekend, where they will entertain the Vikings & Penguins in doubleheader action.
