Devils finish off Philadelphia to win East semifinals, 4-1
Bryce Salvador, David Clarkson and Ilya Kovalchuk scored goals to lift the New Jersey Devils to a 3-1 win over the Philadelphia Flyers to wrap up the Eastern Conferece semifinals, 4-1.
The 6th-seeded Devils scored twice in the first period and became the first East team to win four straight games in this year's playoffs.
With the Devils entering the conference championship round for the first time since 2003, they now await the winner of the N.Y. Rangers-Washington series, which could come to a conclussion if the Rangers win this Wednesday. New York currently leads the series, 3-2.
