Justin Verlander pitched a complete game five hitter while Rightfielder Quintin Berry hit a two homer in the first inning, Detroit beat Pittsburgh 3-2.
Delmon Young's RBI Single scored Berry from second base for the game winning run. Verlander (8-4) allowed two infield single through the first six innings, giving up a two run homer in the seventh to tied the game at two. He walker one while strikingout seven.
Verlander threw 117 pitches and 78 of them were strikes.
