The Detroit Tigers announced the club has acquired righthanded pitcher Kevin Eichhorn and lefthanded pitcher Ryan Robowski from the Arizona Diamondbacks in exchange for righthanded pitcher Armando Galarraga.

Eichhorn started 13 games with Rookie level Missoula in the Pioneer League during the 2010 season, posting a 5-5 record, 4.94 ERA (74.2IP/41ER) and 71 strikeouts. He finished fourth among all Pioneer League starting pitchers with 12.37 baserunners per nine innings, while he was fifth with 1.81 walks per nine innings. Additionally, Eichhorn started one game with Single A Yakima in 2010, taking the loss after allowing three runs and fanning five batters in six innings of work.

A third-round selection by Arizona in the 2008 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft out of Aptos High School in California, Eichhorn has compiled a 5-8 record, 4.80 ERA (105.0IP/56ER) and 108 strikeouts in 27 outings (15 starts) during his professional career. His father Mark pitched for 11 seasons at the major league level with Toronto (1982, 1986-88, 1992-93), Atlanta (1989), California (1990-92, 1996) and Baltimore (1994).

Robowski appeared in 35 games with Single A Visalia during the 2010 season, posting a 2-4 record, 5.17 ERA (54.0IP/31ER), two saves and 51 strikeouts.

Selected by Arizona in the 16th round of the 2009 Major League Baseball First-Year Draft out of Ohio Dominican University, Robowski has compiled a 5-7 record, 4.82 ERA (84.0IP/45ER), eight saves and 74 strikeouts in 56 appearances during his two seasons of professional baseball.

Galarraga finished 4-9 with a 4.49 ERA (144.1IP/72ER) in 25 games (24 starts) for the Tigers during the 2010 season. He posted a 4-2 record and 3.65 ERA (44.1IP/18ER) in eight outings (seven starts) with Triple A Toledo this past season.

In three seasons with the Tigers, Galarraga compiled a 23-26 record and 4.55 ERA (466.2IP/236ER) in 84 games (77 starts).
