Identical 5-3 wins keeps Tigers stuck behind Sox by one

Just as the Detroit Tigers defeated Cleveland, 5-3, the Chicago White Sox did the exact same thing to Minnesota to stay ahead of Detroit by one game and reduced their magic number to 18. The Tigers will look for a sweep of the 3-game series against the Indians this Sunday afternoon in Cleveland.
AL EAST - After defeating Tampa Bay and with Baltimore losing to Oakland, the N.Y. Yankees have regained control of the division with a magic number of 17.
AL WEST - The Texas Rangers' magic number remains at 16 after losing to Seatlle, 8-6, while Oakland moved within two games out of first place with a 5-2 win over Baltimore.
AL WILD CARD - With a 3-2 loss to Kansas City, the L.A. Angels now have a magic number of 15 against them and are 2 & 1/2 games behind Oakland & Baltimore for the wild card spots.
NL EAST - Atlanta continued to make progress in the division with a 5-4 victory over Washington, who still holds the magic number of 11.
NL CENTRAL - Cincinnati & St. Louis both lost, but the Reds still reduced their magic number to 6.
NL WEST - Both San Francisco & the L.A. Dodgers won their respective games, but the Giants were able to improve their magic number to 10.
NL WILD CARD - With a 4-3 win over the Cardinals, the L.A. Dodgers are now tied with St. Louis for the second wild card spot behind Atlanta.
