The Sharks beat the Red Wings in a shootout 3-2 at Joe Louis Arena. Detroit struggled in the first down 1-0 outshot 11-5, but the Red Wings bounced back to tie the Game up at one on a goal from Justin Abdelkader his eighth of the season.

Tied at one in the third Jakub Kindl scored on the powerplay his fourth goal of the season for a 2-1 lead then the Sharks evened the game at two with a goal at the four minute mark.

With a no goals the rest of the way through overtime then in the shootout Patrick Marleau scored the game winner past Jimmy Howard. Howard had 28 saves on the game.

Detroit on the road for a four game road trip starting in Chicago on Friday Night Game Time 8:30pm
