Red Wings move to #8 with 3-1 win over Kings
Winning for the second time in three nights, the Detroit Red Wings earned a huge win by defeating the defending Stanley Cup champion Los Angeles Kings, 3-1, at the Joe Louis Arena. The victory pushed the Wings to 52 points and past Columbus into eighth place in the Western Conference.
Pavel Datsyuk scored and team captain Henrik Zetterberg picked up two assists to give him five his last two games. Johan Franzen scored an insurance goal that gave him six goals in his last six games.
Fighting to stay in the playoff picture, the Red Wings have two games left in the regular season. The first is the home finale at the Joe which is set for this Thursday night against the Nashville Predators at 7:30 pm. The other is a trip to Dallas to face the Stars this Saturday night at 7 pm.
