Cabrera leaves with sore hip as Tigers beat White Sox, 7-3
The Detroit Tigers started the four-game series against the Chicago White Sox with a 7-3 win at U.S. Cellular Field, but they could be without their triple crown for a moment.
After Miguel Cabrera came home to score from second base on a two-out, two-run single by Victor Martinez in the 5th inning, he appeared to be in pain after scoring, and was later announced that he has a sore left hip flexor and is considered day-to-day.
Tigers starter Max Scherzer improved to 14-1 and did not allow a hit over the first four innings before giving up a leadoff single to Adam Dunn. Torii Hunter, who scored on a two-out single by Prince Fielder to break a scoreless tie in the 3rd inning, hit a solo homerun in the 7th inning to seal the win.
With Cabrera in question for the next game, Detroit will face the White Sox again this Tuesday night at 8 pm.
