Porcello shuts down White Sox as Tigers win, 6-2
Even with Miguel Cabrera sitting out due to a hip flexor, the Detroit Tigers scored three runs – two unearned – in the 4th inning and went on to defeat the Chicago White Sox, 6-2, at U.S. Cellular Field.
The White Sox made a season-high four errors, including one on a rundown three batters in the game that led to manager Robin Ventura being ejected.
Tigers starter Rick Porcello pitched seven shutout innings for the Tigers and allowed four hits, a season-high three walks, and had one strikeout. Detroit will go for three straight against Chicago this Wednesday night at 8 pm.
