Detroit tops Boston, 3-2, in Monday's matinee game
A day after the Red Sox evened the ALCS with the Tigers, the Detroit Red Wings left town (and TD Garden) with a well-deserved 3-2 victory over the Boston Bruins.
The first, second and third lines contributed goals, in that order. Henrik Zetterberg & Pavel Datsyuk combined to score the first, Johan Franzen aided Stephen Weiss with the second, and Daniel Alfredsson & Daniel Cleary paired up for the third to give Detroit a two-goal lead halfway through the game and ultimately the win.
The Red Wings return home to the Joe Louis Arena this Tuesday night at 8 pm to face their old Western Conference foe Columbus Blue Jackets.
