The Red Wings played a complete game holding Boston to 17 shots beating the Bruins 6-1. Detroit led 1-0 after one period on a goal from Justin Abdelkader.
Detroit scored three goals in a 3:56 second span in the second period goals from Tomas Tatar, Henrik Zetterberg and Niklas Kronwall on the powerplay.
Johan Franzen had three assists, Jonas Gustavsson had 16 saves.
Red Wings play the Islanders in New York on Friday Afternoon Game Time 4pm
