Red Wings suffer first loss to Bruins in Boston, 4-1
The Red Wings' offense sputtered as the Boston Bruins took an early lead and built it into a 4-1 victory at the TD Garden as they gave Detroit their first loss of the season.
The brightest spot for the Red Wings was the goaltending of Jimmy Howard, who faced 37 shots and two of the goals allowed came on power plays. Henrik Zetterberg had Detroit's only goal.
After taking five days off, the Red Wings will return to action this Thursday night when they host the Phoenix Coyotes at 7:30 pm inside the Joe Louis Arena.
