Royals fire back in the 6th inning to even World Series at one
Salvador Perez broke open Game 2 with a two-run double in a five-run 6th inning as the Kansas City Royals' relievers kept the San Francisco Giants in check for a 7-2 victory that evened the 2014 World Series at one apiece.
Tempers began to flare up in the 6th as Giants pitcher Hunter Strickland yelled into his glove, then got into a shouting match with Perez as he headed for home plate. Players spilled out of both dugouts and several Royals came out from the outfield bullpen before the umpires finally restored order.
The scene now shifts to the west coast, beginning with Game 3 in San Francisco this Friday night at 8 pm ET where Jeremy Guthrie will be on the mound for the Royals while the Giants will start Tim Hudson.
