Michigan tops Coppin State & EMU in good day of basketball

Freshman Ricky Doyle led the Wolverines with a career-high 16 points and five rebounds as Michigan ended a four-game losing streak with a 72-56 win over the Coppin State Eagles.

Zak Irvin scored 13 points -- including 3-of-5 from three-point range in the 1st half -- and collected a career-high seven rebounds for the Wolverines. Derrick Walton Jr. set a career mark with nine assists.

Michigan will begin their Big Ten season next Tuesday (12/30) in Ann Arbor when the host the Illinois Fighting Illini at 3 pm.
