Ohio State humbles Michigan; WMU women slips past Buffalo
The day after their football team won the national championship, D'Angelo Russell scored 21 points and Sam Thompson added 12 points to help the Ohio State Buckeyes defeat their arch-rival Michigan Wolverines, 71-52.
Caris LeVert scored 14 points and Zak Irvin had 11 points for the Wolverines (10-7, 3-2 Big Ten), who had their two-game winning streak come to an immediate halt.
Michigan will return home to Ann Arbor this Saturday night to host Northwestern at 8:15 pm.
The Western Michigan Broncos went into west New York and defeated the Buffalo Bulls, 62-59.
A.J. Johnson led WMU with 19 points, including going 3-5 from 3-point range. Miracle Woods finished the night with 12 points and Marquisha Harris came off the bench with 11 points.
Western Michigan (9-5) will head back home to Kalamazoo this Saturday afternoon to host the Toledo Rockets at 2 pm.
