Detroit wipes out Minnesota with multiple homeruns, 13-1
Miguel Cabrera homered twice & drove in five runs and starting pitcher Anibal Sanchez pitched eight strong innings to help the Detroit Tigers dominate the Minnesota Twins, 13-1.
It was Cabrera's third multi-homerun game of the season and 33rd of his career. He now has a team-high eight homeruns this season. Nick Castellanos and Bryan Holaday also went deep for the Tigers while Anthony Gose added a career-high four hits.
Up next for Detroit is a road trip to St. Louis to take on their old World Series rival Cardinals in a three-game weekend series, beginning this Friday night at 8 pm.
