Price wins pitching duel vs. Chavez as Tigers shutout A's, 1-0
David Price outpitched Jesse Chavez to win for the first time in four starts as the Detroit Tigers shutout the Oakland Athletics, 1-0, to end their 3-game losing streak.
Price (4-1) gave up five hits and struck out three batters in seven innings. Rajai Davis' sacrifice fly in the 1st inning was all Detroit needed to bring home Anthony Gose for the only run of the game.
The Tigers will wrap up their three-game series with the A's this Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 pm in Oakland.
