Indians spoil Verlander's return as Tigers lose, 5-4
Carlos Santana hit a homerun as the Cleveland Indians spoiled the return of Detroit's starting pitcher Justin Verlander with a 5-4 victory over the Tigers.
Verlander, who had been on the disabled list with a right triceps strain since the start of the season, allowed one baserunner through the first three innings until he gave up a homerun to Santana to open the 4th inning.
The Tigers will conclude their three-game weekend series with Cleveland at Comerica Park this Sunday afternoon at 1 pm.
