Spartans wipe out Penn State; Michigan hammered by Ohio State
Michigan State capped their home finale by letting senior center Jack Allen run for a touchdown as the Spartans wrapped up a spot in the Big Ten championship game for the third time in five seasons with a dominating 55-16 victory over the Penn State Nittany Lions. With the win, the Spartans will play undefeated Iowa for the Big Ten championship next Saturday night at 8:17 pm inside Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana (home of the NFL's Indianapolis Colts). Michigan State also kept the Land-Grant Trophy with their most lopsided win in a series against Penn State that started in 1914.
Ezekiel Elliott had 214 yards rushing and two touchdowns to help the Ohio State Buckeyes pound the Michigan Wolverines at the Big House, 42-13. U-M quarterback Jake Rudock went 19-of-32 for 263 yards and a touchdown. Michigan struggled to move the ball on the ground all day long as running back Jabrill Peppers had just 29 yards rushing on seven carries and De'Veon Smith finished with 10 carries for just 23 yards.
