2011 NHL CONFERENCE QUARTERFINALS

The wait is finally over. The NHL Stanley Cup playoff teams are set, featuring the Detroit Red Wings, who will enter the playoffs for an unprecedented 20th straight time as a 3 seed, as they face the 6th seed Phoenix Coyotes. In other intriguing facts about this year's playoffs, only two teams from Canada will be in the spotlight: President's Trophy winner Vancouver Canucks & the Montreal Canadiens. Five out of the Original Six teams will take part in the playoffs, including an old rivalry between Boston & Montreal. The defending Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks, who barely made the playoffs, will enter as an 8 seed. And for the first time in NHL history, all three California teams (Anaheim, Los Angeles, & San Jose) will be in the playoffs. Plus, Red Wing legend & 3-time Stanley Cup champion Steve Yzerman will return to the playoffs as the General Manager of the Tampa Bay Lightning. This Wednesday night, the postseason begins.
