Three players recalled as Red Wings prepare for Phoenix
The Detroit Red Wings announced that three players have been recalled from the American Hockey League’s Grand Rapids Griffins to serve as ‘Black Aces’ during the team’s impending Stanley Cup Playoff drive. Forward Cory Emmerton has been called up from the Griffins, as have defensemen Doug Janik and Brendan Smith.
With Game 1 set for Wednesday night at the Joe Louis Arena, the Red Wing veterans discuss how ready they are as they prepare for a 7-game series with their first roudn opponent, the Phoenix Coyotes.
