Coke Placed on DL, Wilk's Contract Purchased from Toledo
The Tigers announced the club has placed lefthanded pitcher Phil Coke on the 15-day disabled list with a right foot bone bruise. To take Coke's spot on the club's 25-man roster the Tigers are purchasing the contract of lefthanded pitcher Adam Wilk from Triple A Toledo.
Wilk is 3-4 with a 3.86 ERA (49.0IP/21ER) in eight starts with the Mud Hens. He has fanned 32 batters during his eight outings, while issuing only five walks.
To create room on the club's 40-man roster for Wilk, the Tigers today have designated the contract of righthanded pitcher Robbie Weinhardt for assignment.
Additionally, the Tigers will recall lefthanded pitcher Andy Oliver on Saturday to start that evening's game versus the Boston Red Sox.
