With two outs in the 10th inning, the Detroit Tigers couldn't complete a force play at second as the Tampa Bay Rays went on to win, 3-2.

With the bases loaded in the bottom of the 10th inning, Tampa Bay's Elliot Johnson hit a grounder to third and Brandon Inge threw to second for the force, but umpire Ed Rapuano ruled that Rodriguez beat Ramon Santiago at the bag, allowing the run to score.

The Tigers tied the game in the top of the 7th innning when Alex Avila blasted his 16th homerun of the season deep in the stands in rightfield.

Max Scherzer went five innings and gave up two earned runs on four hits, two walks on 97 pitches, and recorded four strikeouts.
