After review, MSU's Hail Mary beats Wisconsin, 37-31

With 4 seconds left in regulation, Michigan State's fifth-year senior quarterback Kirk Cousins threw a 44-yard Hail Mary on the final play of the game. The pass was tipped off B.J. Cunningham and into the hands of Keith Nichol, who appeared to cross break the plane for a touchdown, but officials initially ruled he did not score. However, after further review, the play was overturned and the #15 Spartans came away with a 37-31 victory over the #4 Wisconsin Badgers.



Cousins completed 22-of-31 passes for 290 yards with three touchdowns (and a two-point conversion) and no interceptions. Michigan State led 31-17 early in the 3rd quarter before Wisconsin rallied late in the quarter to tie the game. Up next for the Spartans is a showdown with the Cornhuskers in Nebraska next Saturday.




Javonti Greene caught a 50-yard pass from Alex Gillett in the first quarter and scored on a 50-yard run midway through the fourth quarter as the Eastern Michigan Eagles defeated the Western Michigan Broncos, 14-10 in Ypsilanti. The Eagles, who already defeated Central Michigan this season, claim the Michigan MAC trophy for the third time in the seven-year history of the award.




Keith Wenning threw three touchdown passes, all in the second half as the Ball State Cardinals came back to defeat the Central Michigan Chippewas, 31-27. Ryan Radcliff threw three TD passes for Central Michigan, thus finishing the game with 436 yards.
