Devils stun Rangers, 5-3 to take 3-2 lead in East Finals
Ryan Carter snapped a tie with 4:24 left in the 3rd period as the New Jersey Devils survived to earn a 5-3 victory over the New York Rangers after blowing a three-goal lead in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
The Devils, who led 3-0 before the 1st period was half over, now have a 3-2 edge in the series and can advance to face the Los Angeles Kings in the Cup Finals with a win at home on Friday night in Game 6. If the Rangers can stay alive, Game 7 would be back in Madison Square Garden this Sunday.
