[/url]Justin Verlander was charged with eight earned runs, matching his career high, in 5 2-3 innings and the Tigers lose to the Royals 9-8.
Verlander struck out six allowing three runs in the first and four in the second, left the game with no decision. Brayan Villarreal (3-4) took the loss.
Delmon Young hit a two run homer in the first inning while Jhonny Peralta hit a game tying solo homer in the eighth, his 10th of the season. The Royals broke the tie with a run in the bottom of the inning.
