Thanks to a 3-run homerun by Delmon Young to help Detroit defeat Chicago, 4-2, the Tigers are now tied with the White Sox for 1st place in the AL Central Division. Detroit's quest to reclaim the top spot for themselves continue this Monday (Labor Day) at Comerica Park when they face the Cleveland Indians at 1 p.m.

AL EAST - With Baltimore's convincing win over New York, 8-3, the Yankees' magic number remains stuck at 28 while the Orioles pulled within two games behind 1st place.

AL WEST - With Texas and Oakland both winning, the Rangers' magic number was trimmed down to 27 while the Athletics remained three games back.

AL WILD CARD - Even though Tampa Bay defeated Toronto earlier, the A's & Orioles came away with victories and reduced their magic number to 28.

NL EAST - Washington's magic number went down to 23 as both the Nationals and the Atlanta Braves earned hard fought victories.

NL CENTRAL - With St. Louis losing to Washington, the Cincinnati Reds took advantage with a win over Houston and dropped their magic number to 19 to be on pace to become the first team this season to win a division title & clinch a spot in the playoffs.

NL WEST - With both San Francisco & the L.A. Dodgers winning, the Giants magic number is reduced to 24.

NL WILD CARD - Even with Atlanta winning & St. Louis losing, both teams are atop of the wild card race with a magic number of 28, but the L.A. Dodgers (a half game back) & Pittsburgh (a game & a half back) are right behind.
