Verlander & the Tigers shutout the Indians, 4-0

Justin Verlander pitched seven shutout innings and got huge defensive plays from Prince Fielder and Miguel Cabrera to snuff Cleveland's threats as the Detroit Tigers stayed within one game of first-place Chicago with a 4-0 shutout win over the Indians.
Verlander (14-8 ) allowed six hits and delivered another dominant performance. Detroit jumped to a 4-0 lead after two innings against Corey Kluber (1-4), who managed to hang around for five innings.
The second game of the 3-game weekend series will occur Saturday afternoon at 4 pm in Cleveland.
