Alfredo Simon leads Tigers to 6-0 shutout win vs. Indians
Starting pitcher Alfredo Simon (12-9) didn't allow a hit until the 6th inning and only gave up just two hits while walking four batters as he helped the Detroit Tigers shut down the Cleveland Indians for seven innings in a 6-0 shutout win.
It was Simon's best start since a complete one-hit game in a 4-0 win over the Texas Rangers on August 20th. He allowed 14 runs on 15 hits over 9 & 1/3 innings in the two starts that followed. Ian Kinsler, Victor Martinez, Tyler Collins (homerun), and James McCann each had two hits for Detroit.
The Tigers will wrap up their three-game weekend series with Cleveland at Comerica Park this Sunday afternoon at 1 pm.
