The Tigers Anibal Sanchez pitched six hitless innings, Miguel Cabrera hit his 37th homer of the season, and the bullpen hung on to give Detroit their second win in a row over the struggling Cleveland Indians 5-3. Sanchez was on auto-pilot until Carlos Santana broke up his no-hit bid with a two-out triple in the seventh inning. Cleveland then rallied for two runs sending Sanchez to the showers. Phil Coke recorded the last out in the seventh making way for Joaquin Benoit who gave up a run in the eighth. Jose Valverde worked the ninth inning for his 31st save in 35 chances. Cleveland starter Justin Masterson pitched 4 2/3 innings allowing two runs on six hits, while striking out eight for the loss. Alex Avila had a great game going 3-4 with 2 RBI. The Tigers hope to sweep the series on Sunday as they send Rick Porcello (9-12, 4.59) against Ubaldo Jimenez (9-16, 5.52) for a 3:05 start.
