Once again, the Detroit Tigers were unable to close out a series, this time to Minnesota in a day-night doubleheader. However, with the Chicago White Sox also losing to the L.A. Angels, the Tigers are only one game back behind the Sox with the magic number of 10 against them. In the final week & a half of regular season baseball, Detroit will aim harder than ever for the division crown, beginning this Monday night against Kansas City at Comerica Park.

NL EAST - The Atlanta Braves moved closer to Washington for the division lead (4 & 1/2 games back) with a 2-1 win over Philadelphia while the Nationals, still with the magic number of 6, stuggled against Milwaukee, 6-2.

AL WEST - Even though Texas & Oakland won their games, the Rangers reduced their magic number to 7.

AL WILD CARD - The L.A. Angels defeated the White Sox, 4-1, but now have a magic number of 8 against them with Baltimore & Oakland still holding the top spots.

NL WILD CARD - With Atlanta, St. Louis, & Milwaukee all winning, the Braves & Cardinals now have a magic number of 8 over the Brewers, who remain two & a half games back.

AL EAST - The N.Y. Yankees still have a one game lead over Baltimore with a magic number of 10, despite both teams losing their respective games.

MONDAY'S KEY GAMES
Kansas City at Detroit - 7 pm
Cleveland at Chi. White Sox - 8 pm
Milwaukee at Washington - 1 pm
Oakland at Texas - 8 pm
N.Y. Yankees at Minnesota - 8 pm
Toronto at Baltimore - 4 pm
