Titans back to normal to start off February
The month of January was indeed one to forget for the Detroit Titans. With the league tournament in sight, the Titans were back to their old selves to start off February as they defeated the UIC Flames 77-63. Chase Simon led the team with 20 points with three other players in double digits. On defense, LaMarcus Lowe stole the show as he helped the Titans with 6 blocks. Detroit (12-12, 6-6 HL) now look towards Saturday to face their other Chicago foe, Loyola at 2 pm from Calihan Hall.
Meanwhile, on the road, the women pulled off a big win against the Butler Bulldogs, 55-51. Cherridy Thornton helped break the 12-game losing streak to Butler with a 14-point performance, followed by Yar Shayok with 12 points. The ladies will stay in Indiana to face Valparaiso this Saturday at 2:30 pm.
