Josh Smith becomes the newest member of the Pistons
After sitting on the sidelines for the first few days of the free agency period which began Monday, the Detroit Pistons reached an agreement with the free agent Josh Smith, who has spent the first nine seasons of his career with the Atlanta Hawks.
At 6-foot-9 and 225 pounds, Smith won the 2005 NBA slam-dunk title and has a career scoring average of 15.3 points per game, but his greatest impact is at the defensive end where he regularly gets defensive player of the year votes, was named to the 2010 second team all-defensive team and has averaged 2.1 blocked shots per game for his career.
