Lions pound Patriots in 40-9 preseason win
Despite the road loss to Cleveland last week, Detroit's defense forced four first-half turnovers and Reggie Bush had 103 yards receiving as the Lions dominated the New England Patriots with a 40-9 preseason win.
Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford finished 12-of-25 passing for 166 yards while Patriots quarterback & Michigan's own Tom Brady finished 16-of-24 for 185 yards. Ryan Mallett played the entire second half at quarterback for New England, despite sporadic chants of “Te-bow, Te-bow,” from a sparse but sold-out Ford Field crowd that wanted to see third-string quarterback Tim Tebow play.
Detroit will wrap up the preseason this Thursday night when they travel to Buffalo to play the Bills at 7 pm.
