Titans' rally falls short against NC State, 82-79
A late 2nd half rally came up short as the Detroit Titans were defeated by the North Carolina State Wolfpack, 82-79, at the Reynolds Coliseum. NC State led by 18 with eight minutes left in regulation before the Titans closed the game with a 32-17 run, until a three-point attempt from UDM's freshman guard Jarod Williams went in & out at the buzzer.
Detroit (5-6) was led by junior forward Juwan Howard Jr., who finished with 24 points, seven rebounds, two assists, & two steals, while senior co-captain Evan Bruinsma added 16 points & six rebounds. Senior center Ugochukwu Njoku scored a career-high 11 points and grabbed a team-high nine rebounds.
The Titans will remain on the road as they head to Akron for a 7 pm game against the Zips this Wednesday night at the James A. Rhodes Arena.
