Tigers fall short as Minnesota wins, 5-3
In the 5th inning, relief pitcher Jose Ortega, who came in for Anibal Sanchez due to a blister in his middle pitching finger, faced four batters. After three walked and the other reached on a sacrifice attempt that led to a throwing error, all four scored as the Detroit Tigers lost to the Minnesota Twins, 5-3.
After the game, Detroit announced they had put Sanchez on the 15-day disabled list and may have to miss at least his next two starts.
The Tigers will conclude their 3-game weekend series with the Twins this Sunday afternoon at 1 pm.
