Detroit goes down swinging as Bruins eliminate Red Wings, 4-2
The Detroit Red Wings' playoff ride ended at the TD Garden, as the Presidents' Trophy winner Boston Bruins claimed the Eastern Conference quarterfinal series after five games with a 4-2 victory.
It is the second time in three years that Detroit have exited the Stanley Cup playoffs in the first round.
All that remains for the Red Wings in the offseason are free agent signings and the NHL Draft, which is set for Friday, June 27th in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
