Rangers halt Kings' quest for sweep with 2-1 win in Cup Finals
Goaltender Henrik Lundqvist made 40 saves at Madison Square Garden as the New York Rangers came away with a 2-1 victory in Game 4 against the Los Angeles Kings to avoid a sweep in the Stanley Cup Finals.
Los Angeles hoped to become the first team since 1998 to complete a sweep in the finals. Now the Rangers will try to be the second team to erase a 3-0 hole in the finals and go on to win the Cup.
Benoit Pouliot and Martin St. Louis each scored for New York as Los Angeles' lead is trimmed to 3-1. The Kings will get their second shot to claim the Cup for the second time in three years in front of their fans this Friday night at 8 pm inside the Staples Center.
