KC hangs on to lead World Series, 2-1, with 3-2 win over Giants
Jeremy Guthrie outpitched Tim Hudson and four Royals relievers combined on four hitless innings as Kansas City defeated the San Francisco Giants, 3-2, to take a 2-1 lead in the 2014 World Series.
Alex Gordon hit a run-scoring double, Lorenzo Cain made two key catches in right field, and in the 6th inning, Eric Hosmer got his first World Series hit -- on his 25th birthday.
Game 4 is this Saturday night at 8 pm with right-hander Ryan Vogelsong scheduled to pitch for the Giants against Kansas City's left-hander Jason Vargas.
