John Simons had a season-high 23 points, including a career-high seven 3-pointers, and seven rebounds to help lead the Central Michigan Chippewas past the Eastern Michigan Eagles, 72-56.

Josh Kozinski added 18 points off the bench for Central, who have won six straight games and recorded their first sweep of the Eagles since the 2011-12 season. The Chippewas' 21 wins are their most in a season in 12 years, back when they won 25 games.

Both teams will be on the road this Saturday as Eastern Michigan (17-11, 6-9 MAC) starts off with a trip to Kalamazoo to face Western Michigan at 4:30 followed by Central Michigan (21-5, 11-4 MAC) heading to Northern Illinois to play the Huskies at 8 pm.

Connar Tava had 13 points, David Brown added 12 points, and A.J. Avery came off the bench to score 11 points as the Western Michigan Broncos held on to defeat the Ball State Cardinals, 53-48.

The Broncos picked up 17 points off of 15 forced turnovers and scored 20 points in the paint. With the win, WMU completed their regular season series of Ball State with a sweep.

Western Michigan (17-11, 8-7 MAC) will return home to Kalamazoo this Saturday afternoon to take on Eastern Michigan at 4:30 pm.

The Michigan Wolverines led by as many as 32 points to earn a dominating 81-50 win over the Purdue Boilermakers at the Crisler Center.

Senior Nicole Elmblad tied a career high with 19 points while adding five rebounds, four assists, two blocks, and two steals in 32 minutes of action for the Wolverines. Senior Cyesha Goree recorded her 15th double-double of the season, finishing with 17 points, 11 rebounds, and four assists.

Michigan (16-12, 8-9 Big Ten) will conclude the regular season on the road this Saturday at noon against the Illinois Fighting Illini.
