Broncos & Eagles close out regular season with victories

Tucker Haymond had 20 points on 9-of-11 shooting and Connar Tava added 10 points, 10 rebounds, & six assists to help the Western Michigan Broncos defeat the Central Michigan Chippewas, 74-62.

Austin Richie added 15 points and Drake LaMont scored 11 points for WMU while Chris Fowler finished with 21 points and Rayshawn Simmons contributed with 19 points for CMU.

Western Michigan (19-12, 10-8 MAC) earned the #6 seed in the 2015 MAC Tournament and will host #11 Ohio this Monday night in the 1st round. Start time was yet to be determined. Meanwhile, Central Michigan (22-7, 12-6 MAC), despite the loss, retained the #1 seed and will have a three-round bye into the semifinals next Friday.




Mike Talley finished the night with in 23 points as the Eastern Michigan Eagles dominated the Toledo Rockets, 85-59, in the regular season finale.

Talley was 10-of-12 from the free throw line while recording five assists to lead EMU. Karrington Ward added 18 points, Raven Lee had 17 points, and Tim Bond contributed with 15 points.

Eastern Michigan (19-12, 8-10 MAC) enters the 2015 MAC tournament as the #8 seed and will host #9 Miami (OH) in Ypsilanti this Monday night at 7:30 pm.
