Eastern advances to MAC quarters; UDM & Oakland eliminated

Raven Lee scored 27 points and Mike Talley finished with 21 points as the #8 Eastern Michigan Eagles defeated the #5 Bowling Green Falcons, 73-67, in the 2nd round of the 2015 MAC tournament.

Karrington Ward added 15 points & 10 rebounds for the Eagles, who had 18 offensive rebounds and only seven turnovers to get 14 more field-goal attempts than Bowling Green.

Eastern Michigan will now play #4 Toledo this Thursday evening in the quarterfinals at 6:30 pm.




On the other side of the bracket, Kwan Cheatham Jr. had 11 points and 10 rebounds as the #7 Akron Zips defeated the #6 Western Michigan Broncos, 58-45, in the 2nd round of the 2015 MAC tournament.

Thomas Wilder had 12 points and seven rebounds for the Broncos (20-13), who were held to only 26% shooting (14-of-54).

As for Akron, they move on to face #3 Kent State in the quarterfinals this Thursday night at 9 pm ET.
