Danny Duffy pitched a shutout into the 8th inning and Eric Hosmer hit a two-run homerun as the Kansas City Royals defeated the Detroit Tigers, 8-1.
Duffy gave up his first run when Rajai Davis' single scored Jose Iglesias, who led off the 8th inning with a triple for Detroit.
The Tigers will back in action this Friday night at 8 pm in Kansas City for the second game of their four-game weekend series.
