Holtby's 30 saves help Caps shutout Rangers, 1-0, to lead 2-1
Goaltender Braden Holtby made 30 saves for his second career playoff shutout and Jay Beagle took advantage of a lucky bounce to score his first goal of the postseason to give the Washington Capitals a 1-0 victory over the New York Rangers for a 2-1 lead in the Eastern Conference semifinals.
The Rangers outshot the Capitals, 30-22, overall with 10 attempts on net in the 3rd period, which did not include the 27 blocks by Washington's skaters.
Game 4 in Washington is set for this Wednesday night at 7:30 pm.
