Kinsler's walkoff homerun helps Tigers defeat Royals, 8-6

Ian Kinsler finished the game with a two-run walkoff homerun off of Ryan Madson in the 9th inning to help the Detroit Tigers earn a 8-6 victory over the Kansas City Royals. Victor Martinez was also a key factor for Detroit when he hit a three-run homerun in the 3rd inning and a two-run homerun in the 5th inning.

Some fans believe that the appearance of a black squirrel that interrupted the game in the 8th inning, when it was tied at six, might have been the inspiration the Tigers needed. The game was delayed for several minutes as it ran around on the field, went into the Tigers' dugout for a brief moment, and then raced out into left field.

Up next for Detroit is a three-game weekend series at Comerica Park against the Boston Red Sox. The first game is set for this Friday night at 7 pm.
